I’m 46 and I agree with all of these. I’d encourage people to work in a restaurant (or at least learn to cook) rather than work in retail #5 (I did both). It saves a ton of money, people really appreciate it and can be a great stress reliever.

#5 should be tied at first place, but great read and insight nonetheless.

I should have made note that these were in no particular order, purely stream of consciousness.

#10 should be enforced by law. Sadly, these behaviors are spreading, too.

This was actually a good list, most 40 thoughts or whatever are typically depressing “do what I didn’t do”.

Thanks Aaron. I certainly haven’t nailed it along the way, but other than living in LA a few more years than I probably should have, I don’t have many “do what I didn’t do” instances.

Love the take on #8.

And as someone under 30, I appreciate the wisdom for my current age decade. Even if it does reveal some truths I'd rather not accept. 😂

#3 is complete nonsense. Having children does not make you the center of the universe and I’m so damn sick of parents thinking that the mere fact they reproduced entitles them to think #3, or anything remotely related to it, is true.

I calls it like I sees it. Sorry bud.

I’m over 40, more than I care to admit to myself. It is astonishing how quickly the years go by once you hit 40, after they seemed to grind out slowly up until then. Please remember this. A decade can fly by while you are just waiting to do something you said you’ll do “tomorrow.”

And take your doctor’s recommendations seriously. Get your prostate checked or schedule that mammogram. Now is the time when you start losing your friends and family members to old man diseases because, guess what? You’re now in the second half of your life.
