Though the days have been getting longer ever-so-slightly since the winter solstice on the 21st, they’re still mighty short and that’s good news for those of us who embrace the strange flow of time in the week between Christmas and New Years Day. Drawn out mornings brewing coffee and baking, well, anything you want. Leisurely evenings spent making cocktails and flipping through cookbooks you may have been gifted before throwing together leftovers out of the fridge or ordering in. And what to do in between the first and last meal of the day? Whatever you wish. Get a jump on those resolutions(wild behavior if you ask me), do puzzles, read a book or two, write(sparingly, lest it start to feel like work), re-watch old movies, go to a theatre to see a new movie, the list goes on. Some combination of all of the above is surely time well spent, but going for long walks and spending the rest of your day napping is also a real solid choice. No doubt a some portion of your time is being spent online, hopefully not too much, but as your eyeballs have landed here, I’m certainly not going to knock it. I’ll admit that I’ve been bouncing around digital spaces more than I probably should be, but at least it’s yielded some interesting threads to pull on in the coming year, as well as more straightforward topics, like stuff and things. Below is a compilation of every tab currently open in my browser. If it comes across as a peek into my mind as we cruise in for a landing at the end of the bumpy ride that was 2024, then trust your gut.
Enjoy the weekend,
